Philipsburg: -- The mother of the baby that died mysteriously some three weeks ago remains behind bars confirmed Chief Prosecutor Taco Stein. Stein said the woman’s time was extended by the judge of instruction for the third time on Friday. So far the detailed report on the autopsy which was conducted on the dead infant is yet to arrive on St. Maarten; Stein said the pathologist has to conduct some microscopic tests to further diagnose the exact cause of death. The parents of the infant were held by police when doctors of the St. Maarten Medical Center called police after they found the child’s death to be of a suspicious nature. Police has later released the father of the child while the mother remained behind bars.
