PHILIPSBURG:--- The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) would like to inform the public that the "Around Town Jump-Up" event, which took place on Friday night, March 22nd, 2024, was successfully conducted without any significant incidents.
The event commenced at approximately 8:30 p.m. and concluded around 11:00 p.m., with participants enjoying the festivities under the watchful eye of law enforcement. The Police were present in full force to ensure the safety and security of all attendees.
Following a thorough evaluation, KPSM is pleased to report that the Jump-Up proceeded smoothly, demonstrating the effective coordination between organizers and law enforcement. However, two females were arrested and issued fines for engaging in a physical altercation during the event.
In line with our commitment to maintaining public safety, the Police Force of Sint Maarten will continue to enforce a zero-tolerance policy against disorderly conduct or violence at public gatherings. This approach will be consistently applied during all upcoming events to uphold peace and order within our community.
