PHILIPSBURG:--- The St. Maarten Guyanese Association brought together members of the Guyanese community on Friday evening for a solemn candlelight vigil in memory of the victims of the devastating MV Barima ferry tragedy, which has plunged Guyana into national mourning.
Held at the Carib Lumber Cricket Ground, the vigil attracted a cross-section of the Guyanese diaspora and supporters from the wider community, all united in grief and solidarity with families affected by one of Guyana's worst maritime disasters in recent history. The gathering coincided with the final day of Guyana's three-day period of national mourning declared by President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
