Heyliger-Marten says unresolved files may lead to administrative action, including suspension or revocation where warranted.
PHILIPSBURG:--- Taxi and passenger bus permit holders who have not completed the 2026 confirmation process have until Wednesday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m. to contact the Inspectorate of Economic and Transport Affairs and resolve outstanding requirements, Minister of TEATT Grisha Heyliger-Marten announced.
Delivering what she repeatedly described as a final warning during the October 7 Council of Ministers press briefing, the minister said the Ministry will proceed with its final review after the deadline.
Failure to respond or complete the process may result in administrative action, including suspension or revocation where warranted under the applicable passenger transportation ordinance, she said.
Operators Missing from published list must act
The warning follows publication of the taxi and bus compliance list on September 30.
Heyliger-Marten said permit holders whose information does not appear on the list must contact the Inspectorate before the deadline and complete any outstanding requirements.
She also noted that some operators had not completed their 2025 confirmation process.
Operators who already submitted documents but do not appear on the published list should contact the Inspectorate to verify the status of their submissions.
The minister explained that the list reflects records verified as of September 28. Later submissions and files still under review may therefore not yet appear.
Ministry Seeks Accurate Register of Active Permits
Heyliger-Marten said the exercise is necessary to establish who is operating, which permits remain active, and whether those permits are being used in accordance with the law.
An accurate register, she explained, is essential to transport reform, oversight, planning and enforcement.
The confirmation process is therefore intended to provide a reliable foundation for decisions about the public transportation system.
Permit holders who are no longer operating must also inform the Inspectorate in writing and provide the required documentation.
Submit outstanding documents to the transport unit.
Final Review Could Bring Permit Action
After October 14, the Ministry will move into its final review of outstanding cases.
Heyliger-Marten said suspension or revocation may follow where warranted. Her remarks did not indicate that every incomplete file would automatically result in either measure.
The warning nevertheless puts permit holders on notice that unresolved requirements may affect their authorization to operate.
“This Is Your Final Opportunity”
The minister thanked operators who had complied and urged those with unresolved files to use the remaining time to regularize their status.
“This is your final opportunity,” she said.
The instruction is clear: taxi and passenger bus permit holders who are absent from the compliance list, unsure of their submission status, or still missing requirements should contact the Inspectorate before October 14 at 4:00 p.m.
