Philipsburg:--- Rotaractors worldwide are celebrating World Rotaract Day today March 13th. Rotaract is an international program for young adults ages 18 to 30 who strive to make a difference in the community. Rotaract International was founded on 13th March, 1968 by Rotary International as an association of clubs made up of service-minded business and professional leaders.
The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise was charted in 2005 and made an enormous impact on the island of St. Maarten. As one of Rotary's most significant and fastest-growing service program, with more than 8,400 clubs in about 170 countries; Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon.
The Rotaract Club of St. Maarten Sunrise does and will continue to do a world of good. Since inception, we have successfully completed community service projects such as:
- Collected food items through our Hurricane Awareness Mission
- Donated hot meals to the less fortunate through our Feed the Homeless initiative
- Distributed school supplies to the various schools on the island through our Give A Child A chance project.
- Encourages child development in collaboration with Rotary Mid Isle in our Annual Spelling Competition
