Owner of Toppers Restaurant Remains in Custody, Judge of Instruction decides.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The owner of Toppers Restaurant will have to remain in police detention for the next eight days and police will continue their investigations as to how the well-known businessman obtained two illegal firearms. The businessman appeared before the judge late last week where his lawyers asked that he be released due to his health conditions. The judge did not give an immediate answer, said Prosecutor Nanouk Lemmers. Lemmers said the prosecution received the decision from the judge on Monday.
A team of police officers raided Toppers Restaurant on Wednesday where they found one of the illegal firearms, after that they raided his home where a second firearm was found. Police had also arrested Toppers' wife who was at home at the time when the raid was carried out. She was questioned by detectives and released that same night.
A police report from KPSM stated that police conducted the raid after receiving a tip that the businessman was in possession of illegal weapons.
When asked if there are any other charges against Toppers other than the possession of illegal firearms, Prosecutor Lemmers said that is the only charge against the businessman.
