MP William Marlin lectured Council of Ministers about the Dutch occupation on St. Maarten.

~Who is the leaker, what about the SZV transfer to Foodmate? `

PHILIPSBURG: --- Member of Parliament William Marlin took most of his speaking time on Tuesday during the budget debate to lecture the Council of Ministers on their attitude towards the Dutch namely the State Secretary Raymond Knops. Marlin said the Council of Ministers are bowing towards Knops and does everything he orders them to do with the promise of the recovery fund.
The former Prime Minister of St. Maarten reminded the Council of Ministers and Parliament about his reality while holding the office of Prime Minister and what happened to him when he stood up against the Dutch. Marlin said back then there were people who gained because they either became Minister or Members of Parliament however the fact remains, he was blamed for several things including the blocking of the French and Dutch borders.
Marlin asked the Prime Minister to update the Parliament of St. Maarten on the outcome of her investigation on the so-called leaking of information. Marlin was referring to the investigation Prime Minister Romeo Marlin launched after SMN News published an article about a meeting held in New York with the Dutch Government and the bondholders of the Princess Juliana International Airport. He said he wants to know if the Prime Minister halted that investigation or if she knows who the leaker is. “ Were you advised to drop the investigation because you may not like what you will find?”
Marlin also called on Minister of Justice Cornelius de Weever to update Parliament on whether he investigated what transpired with the passport of suspended MP Theodore Heyliger. He further asked the Minister of VSA Emil Lee to update parliament on the $500,000.00 that was transferred to Foodmate BV registered in New York. Marlin said he wants to know if basic research was conducted to see who and where the email was sent from and if it is normal procedures for SZV to transfer large sums of money based on an email.
