Lorenzo could strengthen into a hurricane by Wednesday when it's located well west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Initial indications are that future Lorenzo will eventually turn toward the northwest and then north later this week. That may prevent it from impacting any land areas for the foreseeable future, but it's too early to be certain.
