POINTE BLANCHE:--- A certified security training in Predictive Profiling, a proactive security method that originated in Israel, was recently provided to Security staff and personnel that form part of the Port and Airport Safety and Security department. The Government Security and Checkmate also took part in the training, and a follow-up course is planned for later down the year.
The two full-day sessions concluded with an exam and certification. Amongst other topics, the training also included how to detect suspicious behaviors by observing and asking the right questions.
The participants who received this training described it as a very positive and enriching experience and now have the title of Threat Assessment Officer, said Leslie Richardson, Port St. Maarten Safety & Security Manager.
Port St. Maarten Management pointed out that adding additional tools to enhancing maritime security was essential in an ever-changing world where security matters are concerned.
“We are very cognizant as a port of entry what is required to protect the nations critical infrastructure against possible maritime security threats. The main focus is on preventive security and providing security stakeholders with the latest tools that further enhances their skills and knowledge and align with International Maritime Organization (IMO) maritime security measures,” Port St. Maarten Management said on Sunday.
Arsec Security Consulting Corp, a company based out of New Jersey, USA together with their local partner Bossi Security Risk Management BV established in St. Maarten, conducted the two-day certification training.
The training was carried out by two experienced security specialist Oren Raz, a former Special Agent for the Israeli Government Security Agency, currently managing its own private training, consulting and threat management assessment firm for Government facilities, Airports, Cruise ships, Cruise ship terminals, Hotels, Community Centers and Schools.
Raz, together with his partner in Arsec Security Consulting Corp, Aaron J. M. Antersijn, an outstanding Security Specialist leading Bossi Security Risk Management BV throughout the Dutch Caribbean, is highly skilled in Electronic Security, has led many large projects in the Dutch Caribbean and is a seasoned Security Facilitator/Instructor of an array of Certified Security trainings including supervision and management.
