Face to Face teaching resumes in schools in phased manner.

rodolphesamuel22042020PHILIPSBURG:--- On Monday 19 October 2020 schools on Sint Maarten have been advised to resume face to face instructions in a phased manner. Over the last couple of days, approximately 350 Primary Education (Group 8) students and approximately 100 Secondary Education Examination students returned to the classroom and were greeted by their teachers and school management. During the course of this week, hundreds of more students will return to campus.

As of October 26, 2020, the group of vulnerable students will be given the opportunity to start with a face to face instructions as well. School boards have begun the process of identifying this group of students and provisions are being made for their return to school.
The final phase of the return to school is expected to commence on November 16th, 2020, when all schools can start back with face to face instruction. The community is reminded, that not all schools will offer the exact same program, and Distance Learning is expected to remain an important part of instructional delivery because all school facilities are different.
Busses are available to take students to school and it is very important for the community of Sint Maarten to pay attention and know that the roads will be busier than normal.
As the health of all remains extremely important during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the community is encouraged to continue to practice the established safety protocols so that we can continue to limit community spread and ensure safe continuity of education for all of our students.
