PHILIPSBURG:--- Victory-Over-Injustice-Consciously-Eliminating-Silence (VOICES) Foundation will be hosting a Wo/Men Empowerment Session through Poetry, Song, and Awareness. This event will be done virtually. Keeping the people of St. Maarten safe is our number one priority says Ms. Nkosazana Esther Illis Founder-President of VOICES Foundation.
Domestic Violence is something that persons do not speak enough of in our society. Too many persons remain silent. Domestic Violence affects both women and men. VOICES encourages the people of St. Maarten to join its Virtual Meeting on Monday, November 30, 2020, at 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Zoom ID: 8011945024 Password: 4205
The reason that VOICES Foundation is hosting their event on November 30, 2020, its VOICES Anniversary and Birthday of the late Micheline Illidge-Douglas the sister of VOICES Founder–President whose life was brutally taken through Domestic Violence by her husband.
Bringing awareness to our community is very essential Says Ms. Illis especially during these challenging times of COVID-19. The Honorable Minister of Justice Anna Richardson will give a few remarks on Domestic Violence.
Amy Arrindell our Counselor and drs. Ramonda Hanze our Behavior Specialist will empower and enhance you with their presentation. There will also be an experience in Domestic Violence and Abuse.
Arts are universal and touch the heart and life of humanity. Enjoy Poetry and Song with some of St. Maarten's greatest artists: Lasana Sekou, Shantillia, Lysanne GoddessEye Charles, Essynce, Faizah Tabasamu, Betti V, Magueda Jackson, Anderson Perceval, and Ayana Tyrell-Lake doing what they do best just for you.
Words alone cannot express the gratitude that VOICES Foundation has for the media. Without you, VOICES Foundation would not have been able to bring such awareness to the community via Radio, TV, Newspaper, Online, and Social Media. You have always been there for us and we humbly appreciate your sincere and profound dedication says Founder-President of VOICES Foundation.
In closing, Ms. Illis would like to extend heartfelt condolences to all those who have lost their lives through Domestic Violence and sadly not forgotten those lives that were lost due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Much strength goes out to the family and friends.
