~ Currently the Justice System benefits the criminals.~
PHILIPSBURG:--- A family in Marigot Hill St. Peters is calling on the justice system to grant them justice as their father was attacked a beaten by someone they identify as Dean BENJAMIN. They described the attacker as a criminal with an unsound mind since he has been attacking residents of the area without reason.
The daughter of the badly beaten man said “today, DEAN BENJAMIN almost kill my Dad after many threats to kill him and attempted to even trespassing countless times. We WANT JUSTICE! It seems as if the only way to get attention for this well-known criminal who terrifies a whole community is with death certificates even if there're dead bodies, there’s no proof.”
Benjamin threatens the entire community in St. Peters including the handicapped, children, women, and elders are all scared for their lives and he threatens to kill them and he acts on it. The attacker constantly harassing, stalking the people, looking to intimidate, insulting, trespassing, and threatening to kill.
The family said that the man built a shack illegally by trespassing on their land. He threatened people every day to allow him to use their bathrooms, to give him water and electricity. The residents said despite numerous reports nothing is actually done to the attacker.
The young woman said the attacker threatened to kill her mother and acts on it by throwing a hammer towards her head while trespassing on her property. The said police arrested Benjamin for one week, claiming that there wasn’t enough evidence to convict him or hold him any longer. Even if, there was a knife, bottle, and a hammer. THE EVIDENCE NEEDED IS A DEATH CERTIFICATE, the family said.
He’s harassing the children staring at a 10-year-old girl, asking her to open the door for him to come in sleep, and making attempts to attack her when people are not around. He is running after the children with dogs, showing his genitalia the neighborhood children are scared and terrorized. Every time he attacks someone and he gets arrested for a few days and then released. He claims that the police can’t do him anything, he’ll always come back shortly for his victims. People feel discouraged to file complaints when they see nothing is being done to the attacker to protect them from the constant attacks.
The justice system finds even if there are many attempts and police reports but if he doesn’t kill. it's not that serious even if he makes promises and act on them.
There are numerous other cases of people who are living in terror in the area who are even afraid to speak.
The people say they aware that the justice system protects criminals, not the victims. “We need it to be known what’s going on in SXM because my father could have been killed this has been happening for years, nothing is being done, WE WANT Justice! we need help!”
“He almost killed my dad for no reason, let’s see how justice will be served! Their decision will answer this question. We have a petition please contact us if you want to testify against him or if you have been one of his victims. Please don’t be afraid! We need to get justice for these criminals that the judicial system takes lightly. We need testimonies, we need signals words to my dad is: "I'm talking to u!" Today I'm going to kill!" Today you will die unless you act now.!"
