PHILIPSBURG:---The Finance Committee of Parliament will meet in a session on February 1, 2021.
The Finance Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday at 14.00 hrs. and will be held in a virtual setting. The Minister of Finance and Representatives of the Central Bank of Curaçao & Sint Maarten will be present.
The agenda points are:
1. Discussion on matters relating to the moratoriums given to individuals and businesses by the individual banking institutions
2. Any studies or analysis performed by CBCS to determine the viability of the commercial banks in their exercise to assist their clients by providing temporary relief in the form of a moratorium
3. Discussions the CBCS has had with the Banker’s Association concerning the sustainability of the moratoriums granted thus far
4. The reason(s) the debt service ratio of 37 percent is no longer allowed when granting loans
