PUBLIC NOTICE.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 36, paragraph 3 of the Election Ordinance, the Chairlady of the Central Voting Bureau hereby announces the following:
On Thursday, July 18th, 2024, the Central Voting Bureau will hold a session at 10.00hrs in the Legislative Hall of the House of Parliament, located at the Wilhelminastraat 1 in Philipsburg. During this session, the Central Voting Bureau will determine the numbering of the lists of candidates submitted to the chairlady on July 2nd, 2024 as they will appear on the ballot.
During this session, the representative or deputy representative of each political party to the Central Voting Bureau will have the opportunity to indicate to the Chairlady their color of choice of their list of candidates. Political parties are only allowed to choose from the colors that are listed in the decree of the Minister of General Affairs dated May 31, 2024.
The session is open to eligible voters, providing the order is not disturbed as a result thereof or that the advancement of duties is not impeded.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 30 of the Election Ordinance, the Chairlady of the Central Voting Bureau for the August 19th, 2024 election of the members of Parliament of Sint Maarten hereby announces the following:
On Monday, July 15th, 2024, the Central Voting Bureau will hold a session at 10.00hrs in the Legislative Hall of the House of Parliament, located at the Wilhelminastraat 1 in Philipsburg. During this session, the Central Voting Bureau will decide on the validity of the lists of candidates submitted by political parties to the Chairlady on July 2nd, 2024, on the maintenance of the candidates appearing thereon and on the maintenance of the designation above.
The session is open to eligible voters.
Pursuant to article 33 of the Election Ordinance, any eligible voter can lodge an appeal within two (2) days at the Court in First Instance of Sint Maarten against decisions that were taken by the Central Voting Bureau during said session.

Public Notice.

The Department of VROMI Infrastructure is announcing to all road users the following:
There will be a temporary road closure of the Wilhelminastraat in Philipsburg for the following work execution. HEMCO N.V. Electrical Services will be conducting electrical cable work between the Courthouse and the annex building. Work execution will take place on Saturday June 15, 2024, between the hours of 1:00 am and 5:00 am.
We are asking all road users to please follow instructions from security or road management during the closure.
To ensure a smooth flow of traffic, provisions will be made to redirect vehicles throughout the work execution. All motorists are kindly urged to adhere to this restriction for their safety and the safety of others.
To minimize disruptions, ordinary vehicular traffic is advised to utilize alternative routes or follow the designated detour during the proposed closure period.

PUBLIC NOTICE FROM CENTRAL VOTING BUREAU.

 

The Chairperson of the Central Voting Bureau of Sint Maarten hereby announces that in connection with the Parliamentary Elections of Sint Maarten the voter register will be closed on June 3, 2024. This closure is in accordance with Article 2, read in conjunction with Article 39, of the Electoral Ordinance.

Eligible voters for the election on August 19, 2024, are those who:

A. are residents as of June 3, 2024;
B. hold Dutch nationality;
C. will have reached the age of 18 on the day of the election.

For verification of voter registration status, individuals may consult the Civil Registry Department to confirm their own listing or that of another person, provided they have the authorization to do so.

Any individual may petition for amendments or corrections to the voter register. Such requests can be submitted to the Court of First Instance and are guided by Article 9 of the Electoral Ordinance. Forms for this purpose are available at no cost at the Civil Registry Department.

IMPORTANT NOTICE.

All political parties and candidates must submit a register of donations by February deadlines Philipsburg: The Electoral Council would like to congratulate all political parties and candidates on their results in the parliamentary elections and hereby reminds all registered political parties that in accordance with article 37 paragraph 1 of the National Ordinance on Registration and Finances of Political Parties, they are required to submit to the Electoral Council a chronological register of donations of all donations received throughout the year 2023, be it in cash, by check or in kind, before February 1st, 2024. All political parties that did not receive any donations in
2023 must also submit a signed register. All parties that did not participate in the 2024 parliamentary elections must also maintain and submit a register of donations.
In addition and most importantly with regard to the parliamentary elections, the Electoral Council hereby notifies all candidates that pursuant to Article 33 Paragraph 2 of the National Ordinance on Registration and Finances of Political Parties, all candidates must maintain a register of all donations received from the moment that they have been designated as a candidate by their political party. Further, pursuant to Article 37 paragraph 2 all candidates must submit a copy of their register of donations, be it monetary or in kind, within one month after election day, provided with a declaration signed by the candidate.
The registers of donations can be submitted to the Electoral Council at the office address of the Electoral Council mentioned below during office hours between 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and between 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. The Electoral Council is hereby announcing that parties and candidates may also submit their register of donations via an online database that the Electoral Council has established for this purpose.
Within short, each party and candidate will receive an email with a username, password, and instructions on how to access the database in order to complete the registration digitally.
The Electoral Council advises all party boards to carefully monitor donations received by their candidates and – when necessary - to assist their candidates with the accurate registration of donations. Each candidate is required to date and sign his/her donations register and to certify that this is completed accurately and truthfully. Non-compliance with or violation of the National Ordinance on Registration and Finances of Political Parties is subject to penalty.
