Cruelty to animals is the unnecessary and unacceptable suffering or harm inflicted by humans. Mrs. Sandrine Illidge was referred to my family by the local Vet after having worked there for many years. We contracted her services over two years ago and had a monthly standing order for baths and treatments of our four dogs. This was until the afternoon of January 7th, 2013, when my daughter witnessed Sandrine's verbal and physical abuse of my jack russel. No dog is ever thrilled of the idea of a cold bath, therefore on this Monday in January, Sandrine experienced more difficulty than customary perhaps in taking Bibi captive for her monthly bath. She was forced to run around the yard to get a hold of Bibi and when she did get a hold of her oh boy did Sandrine take out her exhaustion on Bibi. With the leash tightly stringed to the railing of the staircase and the collar tightly placed around her neck, with the steel buckle of the leash, Sandrine physically beat Bibi multiple times while verbally abusing our dog with profanity. We knew of Sandrine from church and never knew that she cursed or used such colorful language. We are livid by Sandrine's actions to say the least. The single most negative aspect of Dog Abuse is the psychological effect. For months we witnessed psychological effects in the form of shyness in our two dachshunds but it never dawned on us until now what could have been the result of their new timid behavior. Our dogs now reject being pet or touched and run for cover at the slightest call. Could Sandrine have been abusing our dogs for years during her unsupervised visits? You don't have to be a cop, a lawyer or a judge to fight animal cruelty. All you need is the courage to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. We are speaking up for Bibi, Broman, Ziva and Blackie my four dogs that have suffered verbal and physical abuse to the discomfort of Sandrine Illidge.
