Sandy Ground:--- Three gunmen entered V&N Enterprise located in Sandy Ground on Monday afternoon and robbed the owners at gunpoint. The three armed robbers managed to escape with the two cash pans while injuring one person. According to information provided to SMN News by an eyewitness, the three masked gunmen arrived on the scene in a small blue car (most likely a Hyundai Atos). The eyewitness said that the robbers reversed the car up to the entrance of the gated supermarket before robbing the establishment. The eyewitness said the the thieves got away with two cash registers after they hit a female cashier on her head with one of the guns. SMN News further learnt that the bandits managed to escape towards Lowland area.
Captain Sylvain Joulault confirmed to SMN News that an armed robbery was committed at a Chinese Supermarket in Sandy Ground and one person was hit in the face with a gun butt. Joulault said the victim suffered injuries to the face but the injuries were not fatal. The Gendarmerie has since opened an investigation to find the culprits that robbed the supermarket on Monday afternoon.
