Philipsburg:--- 19 year old Reinillo Halley who had to be air evacuated to Colombia on New Year's day for further medical treatment died of his injuries on Wednesday, confirmed close relatives of the victim. According to one of the relatives, Reinillio was partially brain dead when he left St. Maarten.
Acting Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson confirmed on Wednesday that the young scooter rider was riding at high speed when he lost control of his scooter and hit a light pole then an oncoming pick-up truck. Henson said that the victim identified as R.D.H (19) was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident yet he suffered severe head trauma. The Police Spokesman further explained that the victim was removed from the scene in an unconscious state and he was bleeding from his mouth. SMN News has been reliably informed that the young man was on life support that kept him alive until late Wednesday afternoon.
Reinillo is a former student of the Milton Peters College who recently wrote the Caribbean Examinations (CXC) privately.
