Mr. Denicio Richardson on behalf of Postal Services St. Maarten NV is proud to have selected the late Dr. Claude Wathey and Vance James Jr. to be featured as the first two local heroes to be followed by others in the future, in its first upcoming set of local hero stamps for country St. Maarten. The stamps are currently in production and will be made available for sale very soon in the early part of the year. As stamps serve as ambassadors for its country to the world, PSS found it an honor to the faces of these two great men, to travel the corners of the world and ensure their legacy lives on and who contributed so much to our country development. This series of stamps will compliment a list of collectors stamps that are already in place and available at our post office, for purchase.
The themes that PSS will be making available for 2013 includes: Churches, Birds, Heroes, SXM Scenes, Butterflies, Boy Scouts, 200th Anniversary of the Dutch Kingdom, Classic Boats, Light houses, Chess and Classic Paintings. These themes will form the stamp collectors for PSS for the year 2013.
PSS is urging all stamp collectors, children and adults to come by and view what all stamps PSS has available and for purchase and from time to time will be promoting the addition of new sets. PSS remains open to promote special large events with its stamps and designs.
