Oranje School Celebrates Book Week from the 21st January to 25th January, 2013.

Philipsburg:--- Book week is aimed at arousing the value of reading in our students. The program of celebration is designed to include essay and poster contests, book exhibitions, spelling bee competitions, visits to libraries and printing establishments. This year's theme is 'Community helpers' and the slogan is 'Reading helps you get the job done'.
On Friday January 25th, 2013 at 8:15am to 9:30am Oranje School will be hosting their annual book week parade. Students will be wearing book week t-shirts created by a student of the school while other students will be wearing costumes depicting various community helpers in our society, such as teachers, police officers, legal workers, fire-fighters, sanitation workers, chefs, medical workers, and construction workers. The Soualiga jump-up brass band will be leading the march/parade.
The route is from Oranje School on Front Street – straight down to Court house alley – turning onto backstreet at market place – continuing straight down- turning into the old Galaxy Cinemas alley and back to the Oranje School.
