Oranje School Opens Book Week with a Bang --- Students and Parents join teachers as they Parade down Front and Back Street.

oranjeschoolbookweekparade25012013Philipsburg:--- Students attending the Oranje School lit up Front and Back Street early Friday morning with a parade as they opened this year's Book Week. Among the students and teachers who carried banners was the Minister of Education Silveria Jacobs and the Head of Division of Public Education Glenderlin Davis Holiday. Each class of the Oranje School depicted various trades that students take up after completing their education. The main message of Oranje School Book Week is "Reading gets the job done". One poster read "A teacher plants a seed that grows forever". Then came a class with impressive outfits depicting the fire service, the police, and other legal entities.
Teachers, nurses, firemen, bakers, chefs, environmental workers and people who work in the judicial field were all depicted in the Oranje School Book week parade.
