Great Bay:--- Contractor Devcon, working on behalf of St. Maarten Harbour Group of Companies, removed submerged items from Great Bay washed into the bay during Hurricanes Omar (2008) and Earl (2010). The dredging will clear all debris from the bay to ensure the safe berthing for cruise vessels and cargo vessels. The largest debris were from containers, struck with high waves and swept into the water during the hurricanes. Work will continue through the coming months.
