Gendarmes Calling on Persons to Identify Decayed Body that was discovered in Marigot Cemetery. (UPDATED)

deadwomanring05022013Marigot:--- The Gendarmes are calling on witnesses who could identify the completely decayed body of a female that was discovered about two weeks ago by workers of the Collectivity of St. Martin in the Marigot cemetery. Commandant of the Gendarmerie Paul Betaille made clear that the body they are now trying to identify does not correspond with missing Jamaican national Anne Marie Lynch who disappeared on December 22nd, 2012. Betaille said that the remains they found is of a person that died several years ago.
The Gendarmes also sent out a press release calling on persons who could assist them with the identification of the deceased female. The only thing that the investigators have that persons can use to identify this person is a ring that was found on the left hand of the remains at the time it was discovered. Anyone who believes they can assist with the identification of the person should call the investigators at 0590 52 30 16.
It should be noted that while focus is being placed on Anne Marie Lynch who went missing on December 22nd, 2012. American citizen Leta Lynn Cordes went missing in January 2008 and to date her body has not been recovered. Cordes was last seen when she left her Oyster Pond vacation home after having a few drinks to go to the Westin Casino. Several searches were made on both sides of the island and to date there has been no trace of the missing woman whose husband Frank Cordes was arrested as a suspect in her mysterious disappearance. Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos told SMN News that he already contacted the French authorities to inform them that the Dutch side authorities would like to see if the remains they found is that of Leta Lynn Cordes. Mos said that even though the Cordes case is in the cold files they just want to make sure that the latest find rules out Leta Lynn Cordes.
Another woman who went missing some years ago and to date was never found is one Marie Minville, a resident of Sandy Ground. SMN News learnt that Minville disappeared and to date relatives of the woman does not know what has happened to her.
