CARACAS, Venezuela:--- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has died after a two-year battle with cancer, ending the socialist leader's 14-year rule of the South American country, Vice President Nicolas Maduro said in a televised speech.
Several international news agencies announced earlier this week that Chavez was fighting a new infection in relation to his battle against cancer. Chavez was said to have breathing problems early Tuesday and by afternoon the Vice President of Venezuela announced in a televised speech that Chavez had succumbed to the deadly disease.
