Philipsburg:--- On Friday March 15th, 2013 around 11:10am, the police patrol together with the ambulance service responded to a accident with injuries that occurred at the head of Alexis Arnell road. Upon arrival of the 1st patrol it was indeed confirmed that an accident had taken place and that there were persons injured. A car with number plate P-8953 was lying on its right side on the road surface.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver with the initials A.B. a native of Haiti had lost control of the vehicle because the brakes had failed while descending the Alexis Arnell road towards Cole Bay. The driver broke both legs in several places and was taken to the SMMC by ambulance for further examination.
A second ambulance was called in to transport the passenger and three children that had received some cuts and bruised. They were also transported to the SMMC for further examination. The Traffic Department is investigating the accident further.
