GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- The Collective Prevention Service (CPS) Department at the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour is inviting parents and guardians of children 0-17 years of age to visit the Youth Health Care (YHC) Vaccination Booth at the 5th annual Lions Rudy Hoeve Health & Wellness Fair that will take place on Saturday, March 23 at the Festival Village from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Participation of CPS Section YHC at the Lions Rudy Hoeve Health & Wellness Fair is part of the Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labour Hon. Cornelius De Weever 'Get Checked' campaign, which emphasizes the importance of having children immunized.
Parents/guardians are urged to ensure that their children are adequately vaccinated for their age. Immunization guarantees their protection against vaccine-preventable illnesses.
Vaccines have the power not only to save lives, but giving children and adults a chance to age healthy. Vaccinations offer protection to the population.
Children and adults who visit YHC Vaccination Booth at the fair on Saturday should walk with their vaccination booklet/card.
Children and adolescents as well as adults must be vaccinated against the following preventable diseases: small pox, pertussis, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps, rubella and congenital rubella syndrome, haemophilis influenza type B, hepatitis B, and for the at risk population tuberculosis (BCG) vaccine is also provided.
