Philipsburg:--- Deputy Attorney General Taco Stein confirmed on Friday that his office did receive a complaint that Member of Parliament Romain Laville filed against the leader of the United Peoples Party Theodore Heyliger. Last week when SMN News asked Stein about the complaint filed by Laville, Stein said everyone has a right to file complaint and he would not comment on it. Stein also maintained his position that Heyliger was not questioned a second time neither was he questioned on the complaint that Member of Parliament Romain Laville filed with the National Detectives.
When asked by SMN News if the complaint Romain Laville filed against the UP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister would become part of the ORCA (Bada Bing) investigation, Stein said the National Detectives are busy studying the contents of the complaint and they are yet to decide if the complaint would warrant a criminal investigation against the UP Leader. Stein made clear that the complaint filed by MP Laville has nothing to do with the ORCA investigation which is ongoing. Laville has said several times that the UP Leader Theodore Heyliger offered him a $350,000.00 bribe to stay with the UP party and he refused the money. Laville was at loggerheads with the UP leader and MP Jules James who was the manager of two companies at Pelican Resort. MP James, a legislator and pastor, also fired 183 permanent workers of the Pelican Resort, something Member of Parliament Romain Laville openly criticized and gave his support to the workers who are still jobless despite several court battles.
The National Detectives also have the Election Fraud case sitting on their desk involving the UP and some police officers who received bribes from Heyliger in exchange for their votes in 2010.
