PHILIPSBURG:--- On April 16, 2013, the Windward Islands Bank Ltd. (WIB) was very pleased to provide a donation to assist the Sint Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) with this year's carnival celebrations. The cheque was presented by Mr. Kelvin Bloyden (Assistant Managing Director) to the President of SCDF, Mr. Michael Granger who was very appreciative of the donation. WIB has long been an SCDF contributor and continues to provide support to St. Maarten's Carnival. WIB realizes the positive impact Carnival has on the economy, community, and culture of the island and wants to make sure that St. Maarten continues to enjoy the development of its Carnival.
In addition to WIB's monetary donation to SCDF, WIB also extended the use of its company vans to SCDF for both parade days.
WIB also encouraged the general public to join them for the WIB Block Party on April 26th from 5:30PM until 12AM, which will be held in Clem Labega Square. There will be live entertainment, food, drinks, prizes to be won, and lots of fun.
