Philipsburg:--- SXM clothing line, BaySide Clothing Company, has struck a deal with the Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) to sell their exclusive line of limited Carnival Tees through the Foundation's new carnival store.
The store was officially opened Thursday as a major commercial project and revenue-earner for the SCDF, offering a host of Carnival branded items to a carnival-loving public.
"With SCDF it's all about carnival and supporting all local effort to promote our carnival product locally and to an international audience," said SCDF Michael Granger.
He said he was impressed when the founders of Bayside, Lee and Rae Dominique, offered their Island Love T-shirt concept for promotion of Carnival 2013 as well as promotion of St. Maarten.
"I have personally know the founders of BaySide Clothing Company for many years. I have followed their development as teen performers on St. Maarten, and now as entrepreneurs in the hip-hop and urban culture on St. Maarten and wider-afield," said the SCDF president.
He wished Bayside well in the sale of their Tees and said the SCDF store would do its best to promote the special edition BaySide Tees throughout the carnival season.
BaySide founders Lee and Rae Dominique have meantime thanked Mr. Granger and the rest of the SCDF staffers and board for their support in carrying the locally developed brand in their new Carnival store – the first of its kind for the SCDF.
They say the agreement with the SCDF is that the Tees will be made available only at the SCDF store for an exclusive price of $19.99 to lovers of carnival and our island of St. Maarten, but at a higher retail price at other outlets.
The BaySide limited edition carnival Tees are also available online to global fans of BaySide.
