Oyster Pond:--- William Warno, popularly known as "Willy the Iguana Man", passed away in the Dominican Republic on Tuesday. SMN News learnt that Warno was not feeling well and he went to the Dominican Republic for medical treatment where he died early Tuesday morning.
Willy was well known for cattle farming and raising cocks and other animals in Oyster Pond. His open farm attracted tourists on a daily basis because he reared iguana on his farm. SMN News visited Willy the Iguana Man on several occasions to see how his iguanas would respond to his whistle when he would call them. Willy used to feed his iguanas bread, corn, and other fruits that he gathered from supermarkets around the island. Several members of the St. Maarten Pride Foundation also took students and trainees to Willy's farm to experience his charm with the iguanas he raised in the same pond with ducks and other poultry.
