Philipsburg:--- On Friday May 31st, 2013, Chief of Police Peter de Witte awarded certificates to the participants who successfully followed the training in Financial Investigation. Sixteen investigators of the Police Force followed a one week course where skills were taught by experienced teachers of Forensic Services in Curacao, regarding money laundering detection and control, as well as the deprivation of illegally obtained assets.
This brings the Police Force to the level where it meets the development requirements it has set for itself and where the CFATF (Caribbean Financial Action Task Force) insists the Police Department should be. In the near future, the Specialist will follow a three week advanced training in Financial Investigation.
