Philipsburg:--- The St. Maarten Table Tennis Federation (SMTTF) received a drinking water fountain from the Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle, to alleviate the thirst of the children who are practicing at the L.B. Scot Sports Auditorium. The Rotary Club used the funds that were generated from the Rotary Youth Table Tennis Tournament (RYTTT), which was held in March, to purchase the water fountain and filters. The installation was provided by Tony's Air Conditioning at no cost. The previous fountain was out of order for two years, and coach Radjouki often had to purchase water bottles for the children. Radjouki thanked the members of Rotary Mid Isle for this much needed equipment, which will provide the children with clean filtered drinking water. Earlier this year, the Rotary Club also helped with the traveling expenses of the SMTTF children who participated in a tournament in Trinidad & Tobago, which saw the Sint Maarten team advance to the second round, but was unfortunately eliminated by the Dominican Republic. The experience gathered from participating in such international tournaments has helped tremendously in improving the level of the table tennis players on St. Maarten, and Rotary Mid Isle feels proud to have played a role in this.
