University of the Dutch Caribbean (UDC) and University of St. Martin (USM) to run fully accredited Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (BAEEE) program at USM this Fall.

usm04062013PHILIPSBURG:--- As a result of extensive meetings held between the University of the Dutch Caribbean (UDC) and the University of St.Martin (USM) a new NVAO accredited bachelor program will start in August 2013 providing sufficient enrollment.

The program gives St. Maarten students access to Nederlands-Vlaams Accreditatie Organisatie (NVAO) accredited bachelor in applied science in electrical and electronic engineering program which was put together by the Saxion Hogeschool in the Netherlands. Following are some subjects that form part of the curriculum; Mathematics, Analog Technology, Digital Technology, Engineering Programming, Automation, Renewable Energy and Social skills.

To qualify for admittance students must be in possession of either an MBO or SBO level diploma or equivalent and be employed in a technical enterprise (certain waivers will apply depending on technical experience).

The duration of the program is 4 years and internship must be at place of employment.
The total cost for the program is at US $ 8,000 per year, including textbooks and examination fees.
The applied science program is for to those who have working experience, have entered middle management, and want to develop their technical knowledge and skills.

With this UDC-USM bachelor in applied Electrical Electronic Engineering, St. Maarten students are able to earn their BAEEE in four years, including their final thesis without leaving the island.
