PHILIPSBURG:--- On July 1, 2013 a new Rotary year commenced. Last Tuesday was the first meeting of the club for the new rotary year and in this meeting, the gavel was passed from immediate past president Jon Hart to the new president Sanjay Surtani in the presence of the members of the club. The official change of board ceremony or as president Sanjay terms it "change of guard" ceremony is slated to take place at Divi Littlebay on Friday July 12 at 7:30 pm.
President Sanjay's focus for this year is to continue with Rotary Mid Isle's successful signature projects such as the Spelling Bee and the Youth Table Tennis Tournament. He also would like to do more fundraising projects in order to be able to contribute even more to the community.
The club thanked Immediate Past President Jon for the good work that he has done in the past year and wished president Sanjay much success with his projects in this new rotary year.
