PHILIPSBURG:--- On Friday June 5th, 2013 seven candidates, one of the Federal Detectives and 6 of the Sint Maarten Police Force received their certificates in Advanced Financial Investigation from the head of the Detective Department, Commissioner Denise Jacobs. They received 3 weeks of intensive training from Forensic Services.
Financial Investigation is of great importance to the Police Force of Sint Maarten. It is of great importance because it is a very effective way to control crime in general and in particular the laundering of money.
CFATF requires that Sint Maarten have good financial investigation officers. Sint Maarten is working hard to be compliant; because the fight against money laundering contributes to the integrity of country St. Maarten and is of great importance to our economy and tourism.
