PHILIPSBURG:--- Coaches and trainers of Island Hoops Basketball Academy, opened registration for their 1st Annual Summer Basketball Camp.
Over 50 players attended the Open House Showcase held at the St. Maarten Academy at the end of June. The 3 day event showcased the Basketball Academy's skills development training methods to the players and their parents in attendance.
Due to the high level of interest at the Open House showcase, Island Hoops Founder and Head Coach Paul Bell, decided that the Summer Camp would go on and made the necessary arrangements to accommodate two age groups for 2 weeks.
The camp is not restricted to those who participated in the Open House Showcase, all players aged 9 to 18 can enroll in the program for a small fee of $50 for the 2 weeks. The program will focus on Fundamental Basketball development; Ball-Handling, Passing, Shooting, Footwork, Defense, Teamwork & On-Court Leadership.
Starting from July 30th, the camp will be held Tuesdays thru to Fridays at the St. Maarten Academy Gym. Beginning at 9am and ending at 11:30 for players aged 9 to 13 years old. Players aged 14 to 18 years old will begin at 1:30pm and end at 4:00pm.
All players must be properly attired,wearing loose basketball clothing and gym sneakers.
