Says Her Government Will Always Support Young, Local Endeavors
MAHO:--- The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams welcomed the participants of the Video X-Games at the official opening of the event at the Maho Convention center at noon on Friday. The Prime Minister welcomed the participants and urged them to not only be engaged in the gaming activities they traveled to St. Maarten to do but to also enjoy the island to its full potential.
"I want to join the organizers in welcoming you to the island. You would have to agree with me that when it comes to St. Maarten this is a very special place to be to engage in the activity you are so passionate about. This event was organized by a group of young persons of St. Maarten with the help of several sponsors, and in order to pull this off we need to say kudos to all involved. We need to thank the organizers and the sponsors for making this possible; to make it possible for you to gather to engage in something that you are passionate about and that is something special. Knowing that we are able to attract you to our shores we the Government of St. Maarten are a sponsor to this event and we would always support local endeavors such as this. Please enjoy what the island has to offer in addition to your competition. It is about being on St. Maarten and being involved in technology.
