GREAT BAY:--- TelEm Group mobile provider, TelCell, and French counterpart Dauphin Telecom are joining together to welcome world-famous music mix master, DJ Robbie Leslie to St. Maarten's night life today (Saturday).
Both companies are part sponsoring a Saturday night party at Le Shore in Simpson Bay, where the well-known Studio 54 DJ will be performing his sets.
TelCell and Dauphin Telecom say they will also take the opportunity during the course of the night, to renew their business arrangement as Dauphin Telecom prepares to launch its own 3G mobile network on French St. Martin.
"It's a long time since the two companies have partied together even though we have had a working relationship for the past 10 years, and we are looking forward to Saturday's event at Le Shore where customers and friends of both companies will be present" said TelEm Group Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Brian Mingo.
Mr. Mingo said much progress has been made in recent weeks to synchronize both mobile networks now that they will both be operating 3G services. He is positive this will create a better user experience for mobile customers traveling from Dutch St. Maarten to French St. Martin and vice-versa.
"We are confident Dauphin Telecom's 3G service will further enhance the mobile experience of TelCell customers and we will take the opportunity to announce this when we welcome DJ Robbie Leslie to St. Maarten," added Mr. Mingo.
DJ Robbie Leslie has been billed as one of the first major DJs to perform multiple clubs weekly, at a time when management insisted on exclusive control of their artists. It is a freelance practice that has remained in practice with today's DJs.
The artiste has been instrumental in making international DJ party circuits popular with music-lovers and club owners the world over.
He currently produces a weekly show on Sirius/XM Studio 54 Radio sharing his classic recordings, his international shows and vintage DJ showcases.
