PHILIPSBURG:--- An Anger Management Workshop will be held on Thursday August 29, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. for adults and parents who are struggling with anger control issues or persons who would like additional information in this area. Anger affects the body in numerous negative ways and can have both long term and short term effects such as a weakened immune system, heart disease, stroke, stress or severed relationships. This workshop will concentrate on a myriad of skills that will focus on anger control, problem solving and relaxation techniques. The free two-hour workshop will help participants to identify and understand anger better, provide techniques for improving anger management and help participants resolve sample conflicts and build a climate of reduced stress and peace. The workshop is open to the general public and will be held at the University of St. Martin.
The workshop is hosted by the Student Support Services Division (SSSD). The Student Support Services Division is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports and includes prevention, intervention, transition and follow-up services for students and their parents. The general objective of SSSD is to provide care and support services to students for the effective continuation of the developmental process. SSSD believes that If every child must learn, then every parent, family and community must be a part of the process.
