PHILIPSBURG:--- President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell would like to commend the FC Soualiga Women's Soccer Team on organizing their first international Women's Soccer tournament at Cruyff Court in Belvedere this weekend.
The competition will feature two teams from Sint Maarten and one from Curacao, St. Barths, and Trinidad & Tobago.
"I extend a warm welcome to the invited teams and wish them both local and regional teams much success. As a former amateur soccer player in my teens, I can attest to the fact that being part of any sport especially during your formative years contributes significantly to building a mentality of team spirit, discipline, endurance no matter the obstacles life throws at you.
"Congratulations to David Forsythe for his hard work as well as for his vision in establishing this female soccer team. This is just the beginning.
"I'm convinced that the FC Soualiga Women's Soccer Team will make Sint Maarten proud when it qualifies to participate in a world class international tournament.
"I encourage more teens and young women to take charge of their lives and join any sport of their choice," President of Parliament Hon. Gracita Arrindell said on Friday.
