PHILIPSBURG:--- The committee that is organizing the royal visit of King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima has a packed program for the royal couple who is scheduled to arrive on St. Maarten on November 12th, 2013. Chairman of the committee Keith Franca told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday that the royal couple will arrive on November 12th but the official program will start on November 13th at the Clem Labega Square. The official inspection of the troops will also take place in Philipsburg, a meeting with the Council of Ministers is also on the schedule. The royal couple will then pay a visit to the Milton Peters College, the Oranje School, the Methodist Church in Philipsburg, and the Court of First Instance.
Later that same evening a cultural performance will be held at the Festival Village. Franca said the show which will be hosted by the Prime Minister of St. Maarten will have several cultural manifestations by the youths of St. Maarten.
Franca called on the businesses and people of St. Maarten to decorate their places of businesses and homes as they welcome the royal couple who will be on their first official visit since taking office in April 2013. He said St. Maarten is the first island the royal couple will visit then they will move on to the other islands within the Dutch Caribbean. The royal entourage is expected to depart St. Maarten on November 16th, 2013.
