GREAT BAY (DCOMM):--- Minister of Education, Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip reminds the community to come out and attend the National Day of Prayer Service on Sunday, January 12 which is being held under the theme, "God Is Speaking! Are We Listening?"
The National Day of Prayer Service will take place in front of the Government Administration Building. The ecumenical service will begin at 4:30 pm with Praise and Worship by the Christian Faith Ministry (CFM).
The Order of Service includes a welcome by Moderator Doran Joseph. The St. Maarten song will be led by CFM; Call to Worship Pastor Royston Philbert; Invocation Rev. Nichola Barrett-Glasgow; Congregational Hymn 'I Come to the Garden Alone'; Scripture Reading 1 Kings 19: 11-13 by Natasha Yawood; Choir Selection: Seventh Day Adventist Choir; Scripture reading: John 10:24-27 Maria Prince; Sermonette Minister Jeannette Harigan; Intercessory Prayers; The Lord's Prayer led by Brother Brother Walley Havertong; Remarks Prime Minister Hon. Sarah Wescot-Williams; Vote of Thanks by Minister of Education Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip; Benediction Prophet Edwin Arrindell; and Closing hymn 'It is Truly what the Lord has done.'
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the second Sunday of January, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was decreed in 2005 by an Executive Council resolution of the then Island Territory of Sint Maarten, and became part and parcel of the annual cultural calendar of program and activities.
The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip hereby encourages the general public to participate in the National Day of Prayer to intercede for St. Maarten's leaders and the entire population as we begin a New Year.
