National Institute of Art expands course offering with Sound Engineering course
PHILIPSBURG:--- The National Institute of Arts will launch their Audio Department on February 5th, 2014. The NIA Audio Department will offer courses in Sound Engineering. The course aims to teach the basics of sound engineering. Students will also learn the history of sound equipment, how various sound equipment works, including where and when they are most effectively used.
Students will also acquire knowledge of basic studios skills, open-air stage setups, in-door setups and setting up and mixing their own recordings.
The NIA sound engineering course is taught by Patrick Halley, who holds Bachelor of Arts in Sound Engineering.
According to Mr. Halley, "The NIA sound Engineer course is a great opportunity to improve your skills and even provides the basis for further study in Sound Engineering". This course expands the wide range of interdisciplinary art education classes available at the National Institute of Arts.
The course will be offered every Wednesday, 5:00 to 6:30 to students ages 15 -18 at pm and students 19 years and up from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
