Included among these projects is a focus on essential educational initiatives. This involves firstly, the completion of the Labour Oriented Education program curriculum currently being implemented at the St. Maarten Vocational Training School. Additionally, IMBRACE has also been tasked with the development and implementation of Workshops for School Managers and School Boards on in-service training for teachers. The purpose of these workshops are to provide them with the skills, content and correct attitude to acknowledge that they have an important role to play with providing their staff with structured in-service training opportunities in order to raise the standards of learning and education in their school communities.
Lastly, but certainly not least, is the much-needed adaptation of a St. Maarten based comprehensive program and curriculum for Cultural Artistic Formation at the Preparatory Secondary Vocational Education schools on the island.
Ms. Zuleima Salmon, VSBO Coordinator at DEI shares in the enthusiasm for IMBRACE's professional contribution to these projects: "We have undergone a tedious selection process and were pleased with teams presented by IMBRACE to effectively execute these projects and look forward to a great working relationship." Ms. Salmon further thanked USONA for their willingness to collaborate on all the projects mentioned above.
These projects have long-term implications on the various levels of education of our students, as well as the continued professional development of our teachers. This will serve to strengthen the culture of the education community throughout St. Maarten.
