Motorcycle Accident Leaves Teenager Dead --- Students and Teachers of French Quarter College witnessed Deadly Accident.

charlesrobinson24012014FRENCH QUARTER:--- A former student of the French Quarter College is now dead after he fell off his motorcycle in front of the French Quarter College on Friday morning. SMN News learnt that the young man fell off his motorcycle and hit on an electrical post and broke his neck. Eyewitnesses said the young man hit the post and his body landed next to the wall of a nearby house. He died on the spot due to the severe injuries he received. Students at the French Quarter College identified the young man as Charles Robinson.

Residents of French Quarter said the young man is known as someone who rides his motorcycle in the area where the accident occurred on daily basis. Some consider the young scooter riders to be a nuisance to the neighborhood because they simply cannot rest due to the speeding scooters. "These youngsters would break people cars at night just to steal gasoline for their scooters. It's sad and tragic what happened today but the parents of these young boys have to do more to keep their sons indoors."

It is understood that several students and teachers of the College went to the scene of the accident and are currently in shock. SMN News further learnt that the head of the Rectorat and a delegation were scheduled to visit the school on Friday afternoon. During the afternoon, several psychologist and other councilors were are the school providing counseling to the students that saw the victim and the accident.

SMN News further understands that two of the victim's friends witnessed the accident and when the students got out of school at noon they all stayed at the scene of the accident until the body was removed by the undertakers and taken to the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.

Captain of the Gendarmerie Sylvian Joualt confirmed that a 17 year old young man identified as C.R. (17) died due to an accident. Joualt said the victim was riding a Motorcross bike at high speed while trying to do a stunt when he lost control of the bike and fell off. The Captain of the Gendarmerie said that the 17 year old was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
