Prosecution Decided to Suspend MP Patrick Illidge's Pre-trial Detention --- MP Illidge Remains a Suspect but was Released on Thursday.

patrickillidge10032013PHILIPSBURG:--- The Prosecutor's Office decided on Thursday not to request an extension of the pre-trial detention of Member of Parliament Patrick Illidge who was arrested last Monday January 20th, 2014 as a suspect in the ORCA investigation.
Prosecutor Tineke Kamps stated in a press release on Thursday that MP Illidge will be released today (Thursday) she further explained that "the prosecutor has decided not to ask for his pre trial detention (bewaringstelling). Of course this decision does not mean that P.I. is no longer a suspect, he remains a suspect and the investigation will continue."
On Monday January 20th, 2014, the Prosecutor's Office sent out a press released stating that MP Illidge was arrested on the accounts of bribery, money laundering, and taking part in association that has as its aim the committing of criminal offences. P.I. voluntarily turned himself in. MP Illidge became a suspect in the ORCA investigation last year March when a video tape was released showing MP Illidge taking what appears to be monies from the owner of Bada Bing and stuffing it in his pockets.
