St. Maarten Toastmasters Complete Officers Training.

toastmastersofficerstraining30012014PHILIPSBURG:--- Several Toastmasters on St. Maarten have completed the second and final round of the mandatory officers' training, solidifying a goal for each of the three clubs in Area 23 currently being led by Area Governor Sinatra Rouse.

Officers of Disciples, Soualiga Corporate, and Philipsburg Toastmasters Clubs will be recognized by Toastmasters International as having accomplished the requisite skills needed to conduct their club activities. All three clubs are now one step closer to being named President's Distinguished Clubs, the highest accolade for clubs that have completed at least nine of the 10 goals during the Toastmaster year which runs from July 1 to June 30.

The four-hour session, which took place at St. Maarten Academy, saw all three club presidents trained, as well as the clubs' Vice Presidents of Education, Membership, and Public Relations, and club Treasurers, Secretaries, and Sergeants of Arms.

Rouse, along with other veteran Toastmaster Elroy Hughes made presentations on keeping the commitment and having a successful club, among other things. Club officers discussed challenges in retaining members, as well as recruiting new members; creating the right first impressions for visitors, planning enjoyable and educational meetings, and recognizing milestones achieved by members.

During the interactive session, club officers fielded questions and received guidance on how best to conduct their duties. These training sessions are meant to motivate club officers to help grow their respective clubs.
