PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister Hon. Maurice Lake of Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), reported on Sunday that his Ministry is busy working on a number of road repair programs.
On Sunday work started on Bush Road in the vicinity of Burger King, KFC, and Cost U Less.
"Parts of the road were bumpy and you had issues with water creating potholes. An entire section has to be dug up and resurfaced in order to correct the current situation.
"I am appealing to motorists to exercise caution while driving along this section of the Bush Road and I apologize on behalf of the Ministry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
"We are trying to improve road safety for both vehicles and pedestrians and some inconvenience will be incurred," Minister Hon. Maurice Lake said on Sunday.
In the vicinity of the L.B. Scot Gas Station, a road marking project will get underway shortly as well.
The Coralita Road has several potholes and the current frequent rain showers have been preventing the contractor from making the necessary repairs. Minister Lake hopes that the potholes will be repaired this week.
Minister Lake added that he is looking into the placement of road reflectors at certain junctions and roads in order to improve road safety.
