PHILIPSBURG:--- The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams attended a press event on Tuesday morning at the RBC Bank in order to show her support for the fight against cervical cancer. At the Press conference Mrs. Hanna Lieuw Hie, Country Manager of RBC Royal Bank N.V., Prime Minister Wescot – Williams, Ms. Keoma La. Hamer of the Kelaha Projects and Ms. Maribel Postiena of Bella's Fitness Coaching elaborated on the first edition of the event 'Move for Life'. This first time Zumba fundraising event is being organized in order to create awareness and raise funds in order to combat cervical cancer.

Prime Minister Wescot-Williams stated that it is her privilege to be a part of the program and that a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and exercise, are crucially important: "I am pleased to have been asked to lend words of encouragement and endorsement to this project. I would like to congratulate all with this initiative. It is so important that the women of St. Maarten remain conscious about the various health threats that they may face. We need to be very conscious of the fact that the sufferings of any woman are the sufferings of the community. While there are different treatments for cancer there are a few basic things that should be encouraged and promoted such as diet and exercise and therefore I encourage the population of St. Maarten to come out and join us to move for life and to assist in bringing cancer awareness," commented the Prime Minister.

All the proceeds of the 'Move for Life' event will go towards the efforts of The Kelaha Projects to help and support cervical cancer awareness, treatment and guidance.

The 'Move for Life' event will take place on Sunday February 16th from 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm at Country Club at Port de Plaisance under the theme of 'Glow in the Dark' with Soundmasters providing the light and sound effects. "I urge the entire community, and yes also men, to come out and support this important initiative," stressed the Prime Minister.
