MARIGOT:--- French side Carnival is set to come alive on Saturday March 1 2014 when Muzik Art presents this year's K'Aribbean Riddim Zouk & Kompas edition. The show that will be held at Carnival Village in Galisbay St. Martin, will be featuring Zouk sensations Richard Birman, newcomer Jessye Belleval along with Kompas prince Alan Cave. The event will also feature local talent, singers, a St. Martin dance group and local DJ's. "We're bringing the Zouk Night back for French Carnival. This is our contribution to rebuilding carnival on our side of the island," Muzik art's production team said.
Richard Birman started music at the age of 20. Music since then has become a true vocation for him. He plays the keyboard and has already produced several albums. He scored acclaim for the hit "Femme", with Alex Catherine with whom he formed the group Real Limit before going solo in 1999 and released in June 2002 his album Real limit.
Alan Cavé is a Haitian Kompa and Zouk singer and the lead of the group Zin. He toured with his father, Syto Cavé, all over the French Antilles, France and Canada. In 1987, after meeting Alex Abellard and Eddy Saint-Vil, they created the group Zin. They released their first album, O Pa, in 1988 and are still going strong after 20 years. Cavé has also had a very successful solo career and released 3 solo albums.
With these two Zouk legends combining their talents with a newcomer, the show on March 1 is expected to become the stuff that legends are made of, the Muzik Art team said.
Tickets are now on sale for US$15 in advance. At the door on the day of the event they will cost US$ 25. "Save yourself S$10 by purchasing in advance," they said.
