34TH ANNUAL ST. MAARTEN HEINEKEN REGATTA ATTRACTS INTERNATIONAL SAILORS AND VISITORS.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The waters of St. Maarten (www.VacationStMaarten.com) will become an international domain on March 6-9, 2014 during the 34th Annual St. Maarten Heineken Regatta with sailors from every cardinal point on the compass arriving to compete. With just two weeks to go until the competition begins, a world-class fleet of nearly 200 boats has already entered the Regatta, flying flags of more than a dozen nations.

This year's St. Maarten Heineken Regatta has attracted entrants from Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, France, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Russia, Uruguay and the United States. Additionally, the Regatta has attracted entries from talented Caribbean sailors hailing from Antigua, Barbados, St. Maarten, Trinidad, Puerto Rico and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

Among those foreign entrants, some have crossed vast oceans to sail in the Regatta. Others will have delivered their boats to the islands as deck cargo on transoceanic freighters and at least one boat will have arrived in a 40-foot shipping container.

Organizers for the 34th Annual St. Maarten Heineken Regatta have created the perfect formula for three nights of island fun, featuring a performance by Kes during the Caribbean Jam night on March 8, followed by performances from St. Maarten's own Orange Grove and RedFoo and the Party Rock Crew (LMFAO) during the Legendary Party on Sunday, March 9, 2014.

The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta is an annual competition that has become a world-wide and one-of-a-kind sailing event with exciting entertainment, musical performances and parties that have attracted thousands of sailors and enthusiasts to the island over the years. The actual competition consists of round-the-buoys contests and point-to-point destination races against the backdrop of St. Maarten's breathtaking coastal views.

St. Maarten has it all, from cafés and sizzling beachside barbecues; boutique hotels and high-rise resorts and some of the best shopping and nightlife in the Caribbean, there is truly something for everyone.
